We’re thrilled to launch Bāozi, a fresh new sample knit in Fior di Lino, designed by the talented Japanese designer Kaori Katsurada. Bāozi is the pullover version of the cardigan Dianxīn, featured in Laine Magazine Issue 25 – and it’s every bit as delightful and wearable.
When our dear friend Reiko texted us saying she wanted to knit something modern and playful for Paola’s daughter, we immediately fell in love with this design. With its puffy sleeves and frilled hem, Bāozi brings a joyful twist to everyday wear. It’s fun and versatile – just as perfect for a preteen as it is for an adult looking for something light-hearted yet stylish.
The name, inspired by the adorable little stuffed buns, perfectly captures the charm of this piece. We chose Fior di Lino in the color Vintage Celadon for its fresh, spring-like feel, but the design shines in many shades.
Whether you’re knitting Bāozi for a special girl in your life or for yourself, be warned: once you put it on, you’ll want to dance in it.
