INSPIRATION
Caitlin named the Tee after the Italian island of Stromboli, known for its active volcano and stunning coastlines. Caitlin knit the tee in the elegant Avalokita colorway.
This design beautifully captures the island’s rugged charm and vibrant culture. By knitting this beautiful Stromboli tee, you will embrace the essence of Italy and add a unique and stylish piece to your wardrobe.
CONSTRUCTION
You will work the Stromboli tee in a meditative repeating lace pattern, which is both engaging and relaxing to knit. This approach results in a lovely, elegant top that can be dressed up or down. You knit the pattern from the bottom up in the round, then separated it for the front and back, which are worked flat. After joining the shoulders, you pick up and work the sleeve stitches in the round, either to long or short length as preferred. Finally you pick up and work the collar stitches.
Stromboli makes the perfect project for these warmer months, and we have just the yarn to make it shine.
YARN CHOICE
You can choose from our Baby Yak | Organic Cotton blend or the elegant Baby Yak | Silk. These light fingering weight yarns are ideal for creating light, breathable, and stylish garments that you can enjoy with a warm weather but also as a layer in the fall.
The Knitaly collection includes Tegna (technically in the Italian speaking part of Switzerland), Marettimo, Navelli, Misurina, Manarola, and Stromboli.
Each bundle contains the yarn you will need to complete your project.
The pattern is not included.
You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry here.
You can also create your own color combination by choosing your skeins in Baby Yak Silk Light Fingering and Kupa Collection Light Fingering.
NOTES
On our baby yak colors, we only dye on the natural basis we have. No bleaching or decoloring. Each color will vary from season to season, so depending on the shade of the natural fiber, making it darker or lighter. This is the beauty of working with natural fibers. The shade of the sample you see photographed, will not always correspond to the shade we have in stock or at your local LYS.
