Designed for comfort and ease, the cardigan can be worn open making the buttons optional.
Worked flat from the 6” cabled and split hems, it is joined and worked as a single piece until the armholes.
Sleeves are worked in the round and sewn into place after the shoulders are seamed.
The wide ribbed collar/button band is picked up and worked after blocking. Optional button holes are working into one cable column on the right side.

I have been able to knit since I was very young. But I hated knitting. Really loathed it. My mother and grandmother, both incredibly talented knitters, couldn’t understand my aversion to the craft. I would sew, embroider, quilt, crochet, or needlepoint, beautifully and with patience. But never I knit. About 12 years ago, I needed a small travel project and found a 1 skein/1 needle scarf. I was hooked. I think it’s the combination of fantastic and varied yarns, the willingness to frog back and fix mistakes, and blocking everything. Each fiber has its own beauty. When combined with a series of stitches or cables, it makes something unique. Creating the fabric as well as the garment, then being able to wear the finished piece is simply amazing to me. I am always surprised with the results. Along the way, I have met so many generous knitters who showed me something new, shared ideas (and yarn), or just sat and knit with me. Turns out, I really love knitting.
Each kit contains the yarn you will need to complete your project.
