The Cladonia Shawl is a semi circular shawl worked from the center top outward to the bottom edge. The lace border is worked in one piece with the body. A looped, picot bind-off is used to finish the bottom edge.

Any provisional cast on may be used to begin this shawl as long as the number of sts that are held provisionally are equal to the number cast on sts. I used Judy’s Magic Cast On. (Online tutorials for this cast on can be found with a quick search.) If you choose to use Judy’s Magic Cast on be sure to cast 3 sts on each needle.

When working the striped portion of the shawl, the colors may be carried up the side. Be sure to always bring the working yarn in front of the resting yarn on each color change.

Each kit contains the yarn you will need to complete your project.

The pattern is not included.

You can purchase the pattern on Ravelryhere.

You can also create your own color combination of the Cladonia Shawl. Just click here and get your skeins in Baby Yak | Silk or Baby Yak | Organic Cotton.

NOTE: on our baby yak colors, we only dye on the natural basis we have, no bleaching or decoloring so depending on the shade of the natural fiber, each color will vary from season to season, making it darker or lighter. This is the beauty of working with natural fiber and so the shade of the sample you see photographed, not always correspond to the shade we have in stock or at your local LYS.
