The Poppy Bloom Pullover is a stranded colorwork sweater featuring a circular yoke adorned with a bold yet delicate floral motif. Inspired by blooming flowers, the colorwork creates a striking focal point while still feeling wearable and timeless.
The pullover is knitted seamlessly from the top down, beginning at the top of the colorwork yoke. Increases are incorporated directly into the stranded pattern, allowing the floral motif to flow smoothly across the yoke. Once the yoke is complete, the body and sleeves are separated at the underarm and worked individually in the round. Subtle short-row shaping at the back adds comfort and improves the fit. The sleeves also feature colorwork, echoing the yoke design and tying the whole sweater together.
Stitches for the neckband are picked up from the cast-on edge and worked in ribbing in the round. The neckband is then folded double, creating a warm, structured neckline with a beautiful finish.
For the colorwork, choose three of your favorite colors. The main color should have enough contrast with the two contrasting colors to ensure the floral pattern stands out clearly and the yoke design really shines.
