The version shown is size 4 with a 3mm hook which is larger than the 1.5mm recommended in the pattern. It is important to achieve a firm fabric, with fairly tightly worked stitches. You may find you can go up a few sizes and still achieve the correct tension, depending on your personal crochet style. Take the time to thoroughly check tension.
