Manacá

by Paula Pereira
Manacá is one of the 20 fascinating patterns included in Paula’s new book Textured Knits published by Laine Magazine. Manacá’s flower details on the yoke look like a necklace made of delicate flowers. The inspiration for this design was manacá, a fragrant Brazilian flower. The manacá trees also grow in Rio de Janeiro, where Paula was born. She remembers walking back from school, picking the flowers that fell off the trees onto the pavement. The memory of their shape has stayed with Paula ever since.
Paula designed Manacá in Tibetan Cloud Cladonia and Wild Daisy. We have few more suggestions for you(if you swipe through the photos you will see all the combos and you can check yardage needed for each size below):
Dalia | Wild Daisy
Jade Green | Cladonia
Morning Glory | Cladonia
Passiflora | Cherry Blossom
Tangerine | Lotus Blossom
You can also create your own color combination by choosing your skeins.
Textured Knits is a thoughtfully curated collection of contemporary and timeless handknits. The book includes sweaters, cardigans, shawls, and a pair of socks. The 20 fascinating patterns feature a variety of inventive ways to combine different textures, such as cables, colorwork, and embroidery. The result is a versatile knitwear collection that features stunning yet delicate elements. In true Laine-style, the knits are photographed and presented beautifully creating a publication that promises to be a true classic.
