Our Kora Club is more than a yarn club
It’s a way for us to give you a taste of our love for Tibetan Culture and its people, a way for you to join our path, to walk together and help in our effort to support Tibetan communities. But we are also an Italian brand so we had to bring something Italian into the Club, a special surprise for each club crafted with love in our home country.
What does the club include and how does it work?
Every other month we will introduce a limited edition colorway of our Baby Yak Medium (other lines might follow) based on the mood we have created for that month. The mood is inspired by the colors of Tibet, its culture and landscape. There is no automatic renewal so you are not bound to get the bi-monthly club if you don’t like what you see.
Registration is now open for two weeks until November 9, or before if we sell out. Your club will ship at the end of November
Each club will include:
- Limited colorway skeins: you can choose the basic club with 3 skeins OR select the club according to your size to receive enough skeins to knit Jonna Hietala’s Siena Vest.
- 1 exclusive pattern
- Free shipping
- A card with the monthly mood
- In addition you will be able to select the following add on: “From Italy with love”this will change for every club and will be something special made in Italy. It could be something handmade, special delicacies, something good for your body and soul, or something you could use for your creativity.
Note: Yarn club cannot be substituted for other colors and is non-refundable.
We are thrilled that for this Club we had the chance to collaborate with Jonna Hietala founder of Laine Magazine. Not only she is a dear friend, but she is an amazingly talented designer. We love her esthetic and versatile style and we are sure you will love it as much as we do. Here is what she says about her design:
I have about 40 tattoos. Most of them are “just” pictures, but the tattoos on my fingers have stories to tell: they reveal my soul – the person I was, am and want to become. The olive branch on my right index finger reminds me of my dream, my wish to grow old in a rural Italian village.
When I first swatched with mYak’s soft, olive-coloured Kora, my mind travelled to an old Tuscan piazza, to the soulful smells of Italian food, heartwarming chatter around the corner… To all those summer evenings when a floral dress only needed a simple vest to keep me warm.
Siena vest is knitted top down: first the fronts and back are worked separately down to the armpits, then the pieces are joined together. It emphasizes the ordinary, the timeless simplicity, and like the Tree of Life, it is a friend for years to come.
