#5 Horse | Shaded Fern

The fifth animal of our Tibetan Zodiac is the Horse. The Horse, like last month Snake, is of the fire element which means that people born under this sign have a strong personality, are confident and natural born leaders. They will be seen and heard and will excel in any social role.

People born under the Metal Horse (1930, 1990) are the most popular but also stubborn and uncompromising of all the Horses. They are exceptionally friendly and warm-hearted, which will endear them to many people.

The Metal Horse is highly active – so much so that it can be very hard for anyone else around them to keep up. They thrives on excitement, and new challenges that will could bring them to great heights. Metal horses are  fiercely independent and will strongly resist any form of monitoring or regulation.

The Water Horse (1942, 2022) is a particularly cheery, amiable sign which is colorful, fashionable, and able to talk to and be liked by anyone. With a particularly versatile nature and like water, is able to fit into any surrounding, finding his/her own comfortable level among a very broad diversity of people, situations and places.

The Wood Horse (1954, 2014) is the most grounded of the Horses.  People born under this sign are friendly, socially active and can maintain very good friendships and conversations without dominating the scene or offending anyone.

The Fire Horse (1966, 2026) is the wildest and most volatile of Horses. They are led by their hearts and passions, The Fire Horses are exceptionally intelligent, courageous and with a brilliant personality.  Willing to take on several different things at the same time and to take risks – whatever will keep their heart pumping!

The Earth Horse (1918, 1978) is a happy horse and perhaps the most amiable of all. The earthy element makes Earth horses steady, less impetuous and more likely than the rest to weigh all sides of a situation before acting. However, this can also mean that they are often indecisive and acts with far less certainty than other Horse counterparts.

Shaded Fern is the color we associated with the horse. A dark, shaded, mature green with a holly undertone.  A sophisticated rich green that can create an elegant accent tone in a pullover or used as a neutral in a more colorful palette. Shaded Fern can create a gorgeous fading palette if combined with Wild Daisy, Salvia Argentea and Jade Green

Ferns are much more than house or garden plants. In many cultures they are symbols of rebirth, healing and everlasting youth.

According to Slavic folk legends the fern flowers for only one night in Midsummer. The story goes that if someone finds the fern flower on that night, they will get lifelong riches and happiness.   Some type of fern symbolises sincerity, and according to old folk tales it’s a sign that there are fairies living nearby.
