The Monkey is a special sign for Andrea and Paola – the cofounders of mYak, as they were both born under this sign. The Monkey sign is of the Metal element. Generally, people born under a Metal sign have a great deal of confidence and are resolute in their drive for success… sometimes to a point of being hard-headed and stubborn!

The mischievous Monkey is a delight to be around and it is considered the cleverest of the 12 animals in the zodiac.  Monkey are great strategists and always have a plan to achieve whatever they want.

People born under the Monkey are always on the move, always seeking the next thrill to be had and the next mountain to conquer. Multifaceted and versatile, witty and always entertaining, the Monkey is an attractive and sociable animal. The Monkey is a great friend to have and you will never have a dull moment.

The Metal Monkey – 1920, 1980

Metal Monkeys carry a double metal element so they are doubly resolute once they have decided on something. Fiercely independent, ambitious and risk-averse, the intelligent Metal Monkey can make a successful entrepreneur.

The Water Monkey – 1932, 1992

Water softens the Monkey and this element makes the Water Monkey more sensitive and they can react negatively to criticism. Water Monkeys knows what they want and will do what it takes to get it.

The Wood Monkey – 1944, 2004

The Wood Monkeys is popular and respected by both friends and colleagues. However, they have a tendency to need constant approval.

The Fire Monkey – 1956, 2016

The Fire Monkeys are the most active and aggressive of the Monkeys. Naturally dominant, they automatically gravitate towards leadership roles and are competitive in whatever they are doing. They will need to be careful not to let this overwhelm them and turn into toxic jealousy.

The Earth Monkey – 1908, 1968

Earth Monkeys are honest, dependable and stable. They are not the ones to rock the boat nor break the rules. This permeates in every aspect of their lives so financially they are also usually quite secure. The more academic and scholarly minded of the Monkeys, Earth Monkey prefer to be in the background rather than the limelight. The Earth Monkey is also the least self-centred of all the Monkeys and is inclined towards charitable works. With the Earth element, they hold high principles and maintains a very strong moral code. They are forthright, honest and righteous and won’t be unusual to see them championing the rights of minorities or dedicating his life to help others.

Dandelion is the color we associated with the monkey. It is the light-yellow green that was missing in our palette. It brings light and creates lovely contrasts with the muted colors of our palette.

Dandelion can create a gorgeous palette if combined with Wild Daisy, the orange family of Tangerine, Dalia and Cannella, but also with all the green of our palette.

With their golden flowers in the early spring, dandelions represent the return of life, the rebirth of growth and lush after a harsh winter as well as a display of abundant strength and power. Lawns, roadsides, and meadows explode with a sudden outburst of deep yellow flower heads, leading to happiness. With this color we want to wish you a happy summer!
